Summer Diet

Summer time brings tight fit clothing, skin bearing outfits, and the ever dreaded bathing suits.
I decided to devise a summer time diet. I already eat healthy, but it's time to kick it up a notch and go into diet mode. Bahamas is coming up very soon!!

I am going to base my diet from the South Beach Diet and add my knowledge...

Breakfast Ideas:

Egg Whites mixed with turkey breast or soy sausages with Cheddar, Swiss or Mozzerella cheese on Whole Wheat low carb type breads. Added to this should be coffee or tea with 8 extra oz of water. Additionally a carb type fruit, like apples, should be added. Bananas should only be eaten in the morning because they take a while to digest.

Lunch Ideas:

Grill Chicken with salad or Tuna (without Mayo)
Lots of veggies (Peppers, Celery, Tomatoes, Spinach...not iceberg lettuce, Squash, Cauliflower, Broccoli, etc).... and beans (Chick Peas/ Kidney Beans).
Low Sodium/ Light Feta Cheese, or Cheddar.
Adding nuts to the salad adds good fats and protein. ..especially pistachios.
Dressing should be fat free or just plain old Balsamic Vinegar.
Try to completely avoid carbs in this meal.

Snack:

Low Fat Cottage Cheese
Celery Sticks and Peanut Butter
Veggies with Fat free Sour Cream and salsa
A handful of Dried fruits and nuts like Almonds, Cashews, or Pistachios

Dinner Ideas:

Chicken, Tuna, Turkey, Tofu (Make sure that the chicken and turkey are not breaded and skin free!)
Brown Rice or Whole wheat pasta as carbs
Complex Veggies
Side Salad

Desserts:

Fat Free/ Sugar Free Jello or Pudding
Fresh Fruit with Fat Free/Sugar Free Cool Whip is an awesome summer treat.

Other ideas:

Do not eat past 9 or 10PM. This will make a huge difference.
Avoid Soda, Beer, or any sodium filled drink.
Concentrate on the food you are eating. Eat sitting down, enjoy and chew slowly.
Drink much water between and during meals.
Take L-Carnitine, or CLA Tonalin to improve your metabolism.

Diets are hard but feel so good when the results come!
