19 Days Left until Florida Vacation

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

Raph and I are going on our first official getaway together to Florida. We are both in need of some serious relaxation by the beach and sun. I am really looking forward to it ! Even though it cannot be longer and more destination driven, it will still be a good primer for a bigger and better vacation.

So now, I am wondering... Should I make an itinerary ? Or should we go with the flow? I think in a situation like this one where we have both been to this location and really need to relax.... Maybe beach side every day is the plan.

Going to Sivananda Paradise Island

In a few hours I will be getting on a plane and going to the Sivananda Ashram in Paradise Island Bahamas...

It is something I have written about many times and it is a place that I love. It feels like home. I cannot wait to practice yoga for 6 hours a day, meditate for 4 hours, chant, run on the beach, and eat delicious vegan cuisine.

Here is the platform in which I will be practicing yoga for hours...

I will be totally unplugged and away from my friends, family, boyfriend and work. But it is just a great, surreal experience to be alone with ones' thoughts. Hopefully I will return refreshed and relaxed.

Snowboarding in Killington Vermont... Part I

Yesterday, I went snowboarding in Killington, Vermont. Picking up something that your memory has long forgotten is not always the easiest thing to do. Either way, it was seriously awesome. I took a lesson and fell a lot and hurt a lot of parts of my body that don't have a lot of meat on them. (I was supposed to ride again today, but alas.. I can barely move.)

Waking up several times during the night and crying in pain, I am not sure if my boyfriend realizes how much fun I had. He probably doesn't want to take me here again, being that I woke him up every hour last night telling him how much pain I was in. He probably thinks that I not so into it, or will be afraid to try it again. But he is wrong... I definitely want to master this. I can see how this is just one of those things that doesn't happen right away. You have to really learn this... which of course.. I love!

My board is really awesome. It is the Burton Troop. Soo very pretty and nice. I can't wait to get really good so that I can really do some cool things with it. I think by the end of the season, I should be a pro :)

The town in Killington is really small. I saw the same guys on the snow that I did in the shop and the restaurant later on in the day. I can definitely see why people love to come here every weekend. It is like it's own little world, where people speak snow language and eat nice big meals.

With all the damage I have done to my body ... my trip to Sivananda Bahamas next weekend is going to be well deserved and appreciated.

AHHHHHH I cannot wait Sivananda... Ommmm Namah Sivayahhh.. Ommmmm

Going to Hawaii!!!

... Where the sun shines and the sand is pure. Where the ocean is blue and volcanoes soar.

I am the luckiest girl on the planet and I have amazing friends. My friend Dana, who blogs over at Zen For Kids & My Life in Abundance has invited me on a trip with her to Hawaii!

I have never been to Hawaii and I am really excited to go there and relax, enjoy the island, and learn as much as possible. I will be sure to take tons of pictures and post them.

This weekend I am going to researching special things to do there that can't be done anywhere else... and possibly get ink?!

Vacation in Fort Lauderdale, FL

I am currently in Southern Florida vacationing with my grandparents and my boyfriend. It is really warm down here which is perfect for running and tanning. It is a short trip but I have already made it to the pool and will be going to my favorite Florida beach tomorrow.

There is the Sex in the City premier tonight at the Drive in which I will also be attending. I am very excited.

However I am itching to get back to work. I feel like I have so much to do when I get back and it is already weighing on me.

Here is a picture of my bad ass grandpa showing off his Harley Davidson with a side car.

Travels & Destinations

Have you ever planned something, like a vacation, event, or a party, and just didn't think about it until the day before?

About a month ago, my friend Liz and I planned a trip to San Francisco. We have a few friends out there, including Lawrence and Petey. Even though I have been there before, it was only for a few hours during my trip to San Jose a few years ago.

Being so busy at work, and getting really into my new diet, I have almost forgotten to be excited about my trip to California. I have only been to San Jose before and that trip only lasted 3 days. This will be really exciting because we are renting a car and going on adventures. I am really excited to get away with Liz because we haven't really been able to hang out a lot.

I decided to check out The Yoga Tree because I hear it is a really great San Franciscan yoga company.

Liz also came up with the great idea to rent bikes and ride over the Golden Gate Bridge. I am really excited about that because it seems like one of those "once in lifetime" experience. I definitely feel that I am in the right shape to totally enjoy the ride.

I feel very excited and I can't wait to get on the plane tomorrow!!
