September 2008

I have been living on my own for a month and it has been a long hard kick in the butt. I really have to figure out my schedule. I also have to find motivation to work out harder. It is hard to want to do things when nobody is around. I should be running a lot more than I do. I live so close to my gym now and I haven only went there two times a week. The gym is open twenty four hours a day, which means I should go there almost everyday for a nice work out.

The commute to work is so great now. I have a few train times that I can take and it only takes around 30 mins.

Financially, this will be the best lesson I have ever learned. I am so used to spending whatever I want and on anything. But now that I have to pay rent, electric, gas, food, etc... I have to consider all of my bills. I never before really thought about leaving lights on before now. But at 23 .. it is time to learn!

So far I have learned many things this month :
  1. Fight for what you need = My Fios service got installed, My electric bill got lowered, and my kitteh got healthy.
  2. Don't mix different liquors at one party, go home and shower and go out to another party for more drinks = hangover beyond memory.
  3. Never stop running... keep running because fitness = happiness.
  4. Always pet your kittens. They respond only to love... and food.. they need those two things the most.
  5. Waking up early and smelling the dew and the rising sun is always better than sleeping in.
  6. Make sure to always use tough garbage bags... especially when throwing out kitteh litter.

I Need A Fix Cause I'm Going Down...

Going to Hawaii was a life changing experience for me. I didn't expect to really learn anything, and I didn't expect to want to. Attending the personal growth conference was really inspiring and prepared me for a lot of things that smacked me hard in the face when I got back to NY.

What I have promised myself this week is to never say that I am bored or comfortable with my situations. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) can change in an instant. Or.. A New York Minute.

Here are the Great things in Frozen2Late's Life right now: (so not to dwell on anything negative)

  1. Morpheus Media (the agency I work for) is doing some pretty awesome things that are really mentally stimulating and I enjoy my work more than most anything I have ever done.
  2. My Yoga practice is in full gear and I haven't really skipped a beat.
  3. I am currently running between 12-20 miles per week and have never felt better.
  4. My MacBook is awesome and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.
  5. I am currently looking for an apartment for myself which for the first time ever.. I will be able to comfortably afford.
  6. My Hair (although it changes often) looks and feels great and healthy.
  7. I am STILL not biting my nails.
  8. I have Amazing Champion friends who constantly inspire and support every move I make.
  9. I have such an awesome sister who I am getting closer to everyday.
  10. The weather is so nice :)

What's going on...

What's been going on in the life of Stephanie?

This week was the Sit Down of the Social Media Club where I got to hang out with many neat PodcampNYC attendees. I didn't attend the conference, but I am sure I will learn more about it at work this week.

Recently I discovered that 7-11, which happens to be one of my favorite beverage distributors, is offering Chai Tea Latte for a limited time only. It actually compares to the Starbucks Chai Latte but it is not made with Soy upon request.

However, I started using my Starbucks Free Coffee card on Weds. and I discovered that it is unlimited Free Coffee every Weds. until the end of May!

Additionally, I am almost finished reading a fantastic book called Hairstyles of the Damned by Joe Meno. It is a great book about young punk kids trying to find their way in life during the early 90's in the suburbs of racist Chicago.

I am trying to finish this book up fast because I am super excited for A Wolf at the Table by Augusten Burroughs, who is my favorite author. It comes out tomorrow and I cannot wait!!!

Finally, I beat my running total this week with 4 miles non stop in 30 minutes. My goal for next week is to run 5 in 30 minutes. And... I am still not biting my nails!
